Asoke Aryapratheep presents a solo exhibition at Supples Gallery titled: Suggestions. The visually enticing art exhibition will be on view at the gallery space from 21st of September – 10th of November 2024.
Suggestions blurs the boundaries between space, landscape, and the semi-figurative. This evocative series challenges the notion that art is purely a visual experience, proposing instead that it is also a mental one, where each interpretation becomes an integral part of the artwork itself. Inspired by the concept of the Rorschach inkblot test, Asoke’s works act as mirrors reflecting the subconscious, with each abstract and random image offering a unique suggestion imprinted on the mind.
Asoke’s eclectic technique employs a diverse array of mediums; brushes, pens, inks, and unconventional tools like rolling paper to craft complex textures and layers. These elements coalesce into abstract forms that hint at familiar scenes yet remain deliberately open to interpretation.
Suggestions plays with the fluidity of perception and encourages exploration of the endless possibilities within the abstract, challenging the boundaries between artist, artwork, and audience.
