Sunrises Again” Keisei Kobayashi: Wood Engraving 1981 – 2018 is the collection of prints created with one of the most difficult woodcut technique by Keisei Kobayashi.
With the use of transversely cut wooden blocks which its solid feature helps in the making of very fine and detailed lines, this technique requires even more attention than woodcut technique whose blocks are usually lengthwise split wood.
Artworks in this exhibition portray the harmonious coexistence of all creatures by placing forms of humans, birds, chickens, fish, etc. among the forest, sky, and imaginative paradise to present the idea of living together in a happy and equal environment.
